Highly unlikely situation. The episode is very enjoyable with a surprising cast.

Well it's an interesting episode.

The Big Blow is an interesting episode. I mean interesting episode in a good way. The Big Blow is a version of those Christie murder mysteries. A hurricane storm, home invasion, and a house party is in the mix. As time moves on Magnum tries to foil a murder plot for Robben Masters. 1983 is one of the best years for the series, and the viewer is glued to the plot twists just like the old 70's mysteries show based of the classics. Well written, directed and acted. 7 stars.

Hurricane

Warning: Spoilers
Barry Van Dyke guest stars in The Big Blow and one decade later he made it big with a regular gig in Diagnosis Murder, one of my favorite TV series ever. Anyway, here this episode is pretty much a bottle episode that Community fondly talks of (thanks Abed) and there's a hurricane on the way that Higgins needs to contend with as he hosts a dinner party full of distinguished guests.

Anyway, I'm enjoying watching the early seasons of Magnum, P. I, and this episode was worth it. Also, I must admit I haven't watched the reboot so no interest in that thanks. Magnum makes good daytime TV and nostalgia.

Naive one

A very naive episode. The house is full of weapons and Higgins goes to the basement for help through the radio station. the thief comes after him and admits that he just took one gun from the colection in house, which Higgins obviously did not have in mind and he is by the way chief of guarding the master's nest. Oh my God . I adore this series but simply what is too much is too much

Laughable

Higgins mock 'English' accent grates more than usually, and thankfully nobody with an American accent has been or (hopefully) ever will be, referred to as 'Your Highness'. And Barry Van Dyke's whining about his World Series ring is typical of the obsession with 'sports' - the opiate of the masses. Overall and as attempt at a mock Agatha Christie lock-in mystery this serving falls rather short. James Doohan, despite few lines, is still head and shoulders above the rest. It is also noticeable that Tom Selleck seems to deliver all his lines in a near falsetto which is rather embarrassing coming from such a big man.
