Modern day pirates and a mermaid
ODDBear9 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Mark encounters modern day pirates who possess a mermaid who can produce a hypnotic siren song that has a strange effect on anyone who hears it. Even Mark is susceptible to it's powers.

This next-to-last episode is pretty good. Nothing new here but it's fast paced, somewhat imaginative and those villains are a bit less cartoonish than previous ones. Belinda J. Montgomery has left the series and her absence is explained by way of her being summoned to Washington by politicians.

The mermaid looks authentic enough and it turns out that Mark has a singing voice himself that can heal a person who's still in some state of shock after succumbing to the siren song.

Overall this episode is a breath of fresh air after the inherent silliness that plagued the previous two episodes.

No sexy mermaid love story for Mark Harris was to be had here! Boring as can be!
imdb-252886 December 2022
Dull episode, boring wooden female lead. The heck happened to Belinda? So there's this stern and matronly officer replacing her. That woman can't act, so she depends upon her acting crutch: being angry all the time. She's mean and mad at Mark Harris! Double You Tee EFF?! Dis what tanked the show?

It's not exactly that is episode is extra idiotic and boring as can be. There's a lot worse out there! It's that the mermaid's singing is breaking the ears of all the characters (and their naval equipment!) but they forgot they weren't supposed to be breaking mine... THE VIEWER! UGH! I can't take the shrill noise. How idiotic was that?!

No love story for Mark with a hot mermaid: the "merboy" is an Asian little boy with a blonde wig and crooked teeth, which the camera loves to showcase in extreme close-ups.

I tried to watch this but I can't take it, that demonic noise. UGH! I made it to 30 min folks. I tried to return to it but did everything to avoid: I watched The Masked Singer episodes with Kirstie Alley (RIP) on YT, several Paranormal 911 and Paranormal Survivor On Demand, I did some Christmas shopping and I even mopped my kitchen and bathroom floors in between each pauses. The show is boring AF! What the hell was I watching this as a kid for?! I remember I couldn't wait till the following weekend for a new episode.

And now?! UGH! It's so boring, not even Patrick "Adonis" Duffy can save this, and goodness knows he's spectacular looking and gives it his all in the acting department and has charisma to boot. Even if you're into the mythology of mermaid, this doesn't cut it. Plus the bad guys project extra disgusting vibe. Good acting but cringe to watch in a family TV show! Sorry. Every time I want to watch an episode of this, I end up on Fantasy Island. At least, Tattoo is very funny and entertaining! This? I guess I really would rather scrub my kitchen floor, the time goes by much faster: I've been trying to finish this episode for the past 5-6 hours but I can't make it. As a kid? Wild horses couldn't have dragged me away from the TV! Times change, huh?!

Highlights of the show: my kitchen and bathroom floors are spic & span and I got some cool neon socks to match Mark Harris' eyes. I'm off to buy a dark coffee bandana... anything as long as I don't have to finish this episode! See ya!
