Kevin McCarthy plays here an ambitious politician whom several killing attempts were pulled against. The opening sequence is rather interesting where it seems that the attempt murderer was an acquaintance of one of the policemen around the politician, a cop who killed the man who shot on McCarthy. Some elements here remind me the John Fitzgerald Kennedy's case, but from a distance I admit. The tale of a politician whom many powerful people want to get rid off at all costs. An exciting plot where there is a professional killer with a code name - Nemrod - on the loose, a sort of JACKAL. Bob Loggia plays the high scale killer. Watch out the way Robert Loggia's character is introduced in the story, it's very fascinating. This story is obviously inspired from Fred Zinneman's DAY OF THE JACKAL, released two years earlier.
