Actress Pamelyn Ferdin recently revealed that the scene where Dana threatens to jump caused a minor traffic accident along Los Feliz Boulevard and also drew a crowd of horrified onlookers unaware that a TV show was being filmed. Pamelyn was standing on a wobbly glass table, and her only protection was a production assistant holding her by the ankles. The scene violated Standards & Practices of the day, which prohibited the realistic portrayal of a minor in mortal peril, and CBS held up the episode until the footage could be reviewed. In the end, the network decided that the scene would be acceptable to the show's mature audience. Pamelyn says that the scene's inclusion gave her "the groundbreaking distinction of playing the first child staring down death on prime-time TV."
