Ted believes an anchorman doesn't write, until he learns that some of the "big ones", such as
Walter Cronkite, write their own copy. When Ted decides he'll sit in on Mary's creative writing class, he thinks he can breeze through the course, but finds his first assignment is more difficult to write than he imagined. A day before the assignment is due, and Ted hasn't even started, so he asks Mary to write his paper for him, which she refuses. But Ted will do anything to make himself look good in front of the class, even at the expense of Mary.
