Host reiterates what happened...why??

This installment of "Matinee Theatre" was originally in color, as it was sponsored by RCA who had just brought out color TVs. However, the copy I found at archive.org was in black & white.

The story is about a meek and rather dull, but nice man, George (Eddie Cantor). He is a happy man despite his low-paying job as an elevator operator. However, he's about to become happier, as he's about to turn 55...and he will be receiving a huge inheritance...enough that he'll be very comfortable and can finally afford to marry his long-time girlfriend.

George lives with his sisters and soon you realize they are really awful. Apparently they received their portions of the inheritance long ago and they blew through the money. In fact, they now are heavily in debt and resent that George is going to become rich and they won't, as the will specifies that he cannot give a significant portion to them. So, they decide the best thing to do is kill him and then they can pay off their debts and live like queens.

Aside from a few flubbed lines here and there (after all, it was aired live), this is an enjoyable installment of the show. Then ending wasn't great...as I felt it was a bit depressing. My only serious regret is the host...who clearly wasn't needed. After all, all he did was repeat what you just saw on the show...as if you somehow missed it!
