The Airbus makes its landing in full daylight - a geographical impossibility in the Azores (or anywhere except near the north or south pole, where the white nights occur, for that matter) at 02:45 (AM) local time. (This was probably caused by the writers confusing the universal time given in the official statements - 06:45 - with local time in the Azores - 02:45).
When the No.2 engine flames out, Cpt.Piche follows the procedures and sets the only working engine to maximum power - however he pushes both throttles to maximum instead of just one.
Cpt. Piche states that "We'll have to ditch in the water" - not only this is grammatically incorrect (you land an aircraft on something, not in), but also 'to ditch' means 'to land on the water' - he essentially says that "we'll have to land on the water in the water", which does not make too much sense.
