This episode of McCloud has J.D. Cannnon sending Dennis Weaver on a woman hunt in Mexico City. His objective on this mission is to track down Mariette Hartley who is wanted for murder in New York.
Of course she didn't murder anyone, but she saw the guy who did. So it's not just the NYPD in a strange package that wants her it's also the real killer Clu Gulagher.
This episode truly has Chief Clifford's ulcers working overtime. McCloud who is never one to turn down a lady in distress is now working with Hartley to find Gulagher. J.D. Cannon then sends Sgt. Broadhurst down to Mexico City to do the job and let us say Weaver sort of compromises Terry Carter. Finally Cannon has to go down himself and shows up for the finale.
Cannon takes center stage in this McCloud story. With that gruff exterior and clenched cigar, Cannon always looked like he was having a great old time as the chief who could just never get used to Dennis Weaver's western independent ways.
