When the Russian Admiral visits Binghamton, he is taking items from the Captain's desk. But then for some reason, near the end of the scene, the camera angle changes and the Russian says, "Iit's going to be a long war." The Soviet Union didn't declare war on Japan until August 8, 1945 - two days after the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. World War II would end less than a month later.
