George Kennedy does a nice job in this story.

Big Frenchy (George Kennedy) makes his second appearance as the old pirate friend of McHale. But this time what he has been doing is stealing from US Naval supply stations claiming to be working for the French underground. He has already taken from three stations and now has his eye on the base at Taratupa.

Binghamton buys his story that he is working for the underground on a secret mission and gives him all the supplies that he wants. When McHale tells Binghamton that Frenchy is a pirate that steals his way throughout the Pacific, Binghamton just laughs it off and then sends the PT 73 on maneuver that will get him out of his hair.

When Binghamton finally learns the truth about Big Frenchy, it is too late. The pirate already has the supplies and has taken Ensign Parker as a hostage. They will have to rely on McHale and the PT crew to get the Ensign and the supplies back to base.

George Kennedy did a nice job in this episode playing the wildly and fast-talking Frenchman. He made the character interesting even though he was not the most like person in the show. Kind of a straight forward plot that did not produce and surprises but did make for a nice watch for viewers.
