The magician, The Great Voltane, is giving a charity performance and attempts to do the old trick of catching a bullet in his teeth. But it goes very wrong and Voltane is shot to death. In this episode there are plenty of suspects: Kara, Voltane's wife (Faith Domergue), the theater manager, the charity organizer, a retired magician Angelo Zambroni (played by the outstanding actor Eduardo Cianelli) who Voltane had ruined and Bruno, Zambroni's son. The whole business of explaining the "bullet" routine was fascinating and the show is worth watching for that alone. Shayne sorts it all out and in the end tricks the murderer into confessing. When Gentry questions this final gambit of Shayne's, Shayne tells him: "One of the secrets of magic - never tell the audience the truth." The truth is, this show is a good one.
