  John Beresford Tipton : Oh? What way?

  Michael Anthony : Well, I started one - but it grew in red.

  [Tipton hands over an envelope to Anthony] 

  John Beresford Tipton : Our next millionaire, Mike. And Mike, perhaps if you deliver that with a beard, you won't be taken for a square.

  [Anthony gives the comment a brief thought, nods, and departs] 

• Michael Anthony : [to the viewers]  My name is Michael Anthony. For many years, I was Executive Secretary to the late John Beresford Tipton, whose practice it was the bestow gifts of $1,000.000, tax-free. I was also, you might say, the official biographer of the Tipton-made millionaires, carefully chronicling their lives. These accounts were as precious to Mr. Tipton as Silverstone itself. Silverstone - the magnificent 60,000-acre estate in the grand tradition, where he devoted the major part of his time to intellectual pursuits. Of all of his variety of interests, the most searching was his preoccupation with the mystery of man.

• Michael Anthony : [to the viewers]  When I met Jackson Greene, he seemed to be a nice young man. But a little unrealistic. He was a waiter in a coffee house, and he called the small room in which he lived his 'pad.'

• Michael Anthony : [Anthony arrives at Greene's room. After knocking, a girl answers the door and sizes him up. The room is dark and filled with the sound of loud bongo drums. The girl leaves. Anthony spots Greene lying on a bed]  Mr. Jackson Greene?

  [No response] 

  Michael Anthony : May I come in?

  [Still no reply] 

  Michael Anthony : You are Jackson Greene, aren't you?

  Jackson Greene : Yeah, that's my name. What's your story?

  Michael Anthony : My name is Michael Anthony.

  [Opening his briefcase and removing a check] 

  Michael Anthony : I have here a tax-free cashier's check for $1,000,000.

  Jackson Greene : What is it you want? Ten cents a peek?

  Michael Anthony : You don't understand.

  [Looks around] 

  Michael Anthony : Awfully dark in here.

  Jackson Greene : I like to bring the night inside with me.

  Michael Anthony : Even at 2:00 in the afternoon?

  Jackson Greene : Oh, it's left over from last night. I'm a collector.

  Michael Anthony : Oh. As I was saying, I have a cashier's check for a million dollars.

  Jackson Greene : And I'm happy for you.

  Michael Anthony : No, no, no, it isn't mine.

  [Looks around again] 

  Michael Anthony : Could we have a little light in here?

  [Greene turns on an overhead light] 

  Michael Anthony : Much better, thank you. The music is very unusual.

  Jackson Greene : It was recorded on a safari in the Bronx Zoo.

  Michael Anthony : But quite realistic.

  Jackson Greene : Illusion is 90% of reality.

  [Greene turns off the music] 

  Michael Anthony : Yes, of course. Now, I represent a philanthropist who wishes to remain anonymous.

  Jackson Greene : Well, all of us are anonymous, even to ourselves. What's the gimmick?

  Michael Anthony : Oh, there isn't any gimmick.

  [Retrieving a document from his briefcase] 

  Michael Anthony : All you have to do is agree not to reveal the source of this check or the exact amount to anyone other than your wife. Do you have a wife?

  Jackson Greene : Man, you are new around here.

  Michael Anthony : In any event, should you tell, you will forfeit any money that remains.

  Jackson Greene : I can do that. Where do I sign?

  Michael Anthony : Right here.
