• Michael Anthony : [to the viewers]  Very few people in this world have ever had a million dollars. For most, it's just a dream. My name is Michael Anthony. I was Executive Secretary to John Beresford Tipton, a multibillionaire, a man who could make that dream come true - and did!

  [Displays a pile of folders] 

  Michael Anthony : All of the people involved here had one thing in common: they all received a cashier's check for a million dollars, tax-free. Within the seclusion of Silverstone, his 60,000-acre home, he lived his two lives - his business life, involving million dollar corporations, and his private life, made rich and rewarding by his philanthropic hobbies. But his self-made billion was not confined to human beings. The breeding and raising of rare tropical fish occupied much of his time. It was in John Beresford Tipton's solarium that this million dollar story begins.

• Michael Anthony : [to the viewers]  Betty Jane Ryan ran away, an angel on the run. When I told Mr. Tipton about the outcome of the search, he said it was much like the angelfish in his aquarium: two living things so much alike yet so different.

• Michael Anthony : Betty Jane Ryan had been chosen by John Beresford Tipton as the recipient of $1,000.000. For more than a week, I tried to locate the girl in the photograph. Finally, I hired the services of Ed Harper, a Private Detective.

  [Anthony starts to thread a reel on a reel-to-reel tape recorder] 

  Michael Anthony : I couldn't tell him the exact reason I wanted to locate Betty Jane Ryan, but then, he probably wouldn't have believed me anyway.

  [Turns on the tape recorder] 

  Michael Anthony : I'll let you hear what Harper said on the tape recorder.

• Michael Anthony : [Anthony turns off the tape recorder as the reel runs out]  That wasn't the end of the story, of course. Betty Jane and the doctor still had a dream - a free children's clinic. It was two months later on a very special day before Mr. Tipton would let me start showing them the dream come true.

• Edward Harper : [At the wedding]  I don't understand, Mr. Anthony. You wanted me to find her, then you waited two months to see her.

  Michael Anthony : I had my orders, too.

  Edward Harper : To what - kiss the bride?

  Michael Anthony : That, too, certainly.

  [Anthony and Harper join the several guests in congratulating the newly married couple] 

  Michael Anthony : I had another reason to come. A wedding present - a wedding present to end all wedding presents!

• Michael Anthony : [Anthony enters the estate's solarium where he discovers Tipton, seated in a high back chair studying the fish inside a fish tank on a table before him. Only Tipton's right hand is visible to the viewers]  You sent for me, sir?

  John Beresford Tipton : [Staring at the tank]  I can't understand it.

  Michael Anthony : What's that, sir?

  John Beresford Tipton : These two angelfish, Mike. Do you notice the difference in them?

  Michael Anthony : [Stooping down to more closely observe the fish]  Yes, sir. One seems to be getting on well, while the other...

  John Beresford Tipton : These two angelfish, Mike. Do you notice the difference in them?

  [Stooping down to more closely observe the fish] 

  John Beresford Tipton : Yes, sir. One Exactly. Yet from the beginning, both have been given the same, careful treatment; kept at the same temperature; they received the same nourishment. It's strange, isn't it? Two living things so much alike at first can turn out so different.

  Michael Anthony : Is this why you wanted to see me, sir?

  John Beresford Tipton : [Chuckles]  No, Mike, you just caught me in one of more thoughtful moods. You know, Mike, a nurse's life is dedicated to the giving of herself.

  [Tipton hands Anthony an envelope] 

  John Beresford Tipton : It will be interesting to see what happens when she receives one million dollars.
