- Jeremy Brown: Well my students will be hard at it now.
- Sid: Yeah, there is a lot of it about.
- Jeremy Brown: I was talking about the exam.
- [Mr. Brown explains to the class the importance of the exam]
- Jeremy Brown: Now, when you take your examination, your Lower Cambridge Certificate isn't too difficult. The exam is divided into three parts, right; first there's an oral examination, then a written one, and then comes dictation.
- Jamila Ranjha: [confused] Is that his name?
- Jeremy Brown: Is that whose name?
- Jamila Ranjha: The man who is going to be taking us to be doing the examination, Dick Tayshun?
- Jeremy Brown: [clarifying] Dictation is when a person reads something out aloud, and another person copies it down.
- Ali Nadim: [looking at Danielle and gesturing] Ah, like the short-finger typist.
- Jeremy Brown: [correcting him] Short-HAND typist.
- Ali Nadim: [nods] Yes please.
