Quotes
-
Mr. Strother : You know what I think?
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : What?
Mr. Strother : I think the first Olympic game should be called "see how much snow you can shovel."
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : But that might take all day.
-
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : I'm sorry about all this. I didn't wanna ruin the fun.
Lady Aberlin : What DID you want to do?
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : I wanted to show I was in charge of something important, like Friday was in charge of timekeeping.
Lady Aberlin : You wanted to be in charge of the weather?
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : Yes.
Lady Aberlin : Have you learned anything?
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : I sure have. Nobody can be in charge of a big thing like the weather.
Lady Aberlin : Good. Now we're on the road to fixing things up.
-
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : What's going on here?
Mr. Strother : The snow has stopped, Lady Elaine.
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : I knew I could do it.
Lady Aberlin : Uh, the children did it, Lady Elaine.
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : Well, then the children won the first game of the Olympic games. I know one thing: I'll never try to be in charge of weather again. It's too hard to control.
-
Henrietta Pussycat : Meow just talked meow meow telephone meow Harriett Cow.
Lady Aberlin : What did she say?
Henrietta Pussycat : Meow school children meow meow idea.
Lady Aberlin : Oh, I'm so glad!
Henrietta Pussycat : Meow meow go to meow Museum right away.
-
Lady Aberlin : What's the idea?
Daniel Striped Tiger : Well, do you remember the opera about the snow?
Lady Aberlin : Yes.
Daniel Striped Tiger : Well, we were thinking that maybe we could stop the snow the same way you did in the opera.
Lady Aberlin : [singing] You need a very special teacher.
Harriett Elizabeth Cow : My students selected me.
Lady Aberlin : [singing] And a warm pussycat.
Henrietta Pussycat : Meow meow beautiful.
Lady Aberlin : [singing] Suppose we concentrate on that. Suppose we concentrate on that.
[They all concentrate. Moments later, the snow disappears and the sun is out]
Lady Aberlin : You did it! Oh I just knew you could do it.
Daniel Striped Tiger : All gone, the snow. You believe in children, don't you, Lady Aberlin?
Lady Aberlin : I certainly do.
-
X the Owl : I think we should get a big blanket, as big as the sky, and just put it up there and let it catch all the snow.
-
Mr. Strother : Are you suggesting that we have a very special teacher and a warm pussycat come together in order to stop the snow?
Daniel Striped Tiger : We could try.
Mr. Strother : But who would that be? Who is a very special teacher?
Daniel Striped Tiger , Prince Tuesday , Ana Platypus : Harriet Elizabeth Cow.
Harriett Elizabeth Cow : Thank you, class.
Mr. Strother : Would you help us, Miss Cow?
Harriett Elizabeth Cow : I'll do anything I can. Of course, Henrietta Pussycat is a very warm pussycat. I could call her to help.
Mr. Strother : Oh, thank you. Thank you, all. Let's all meet at the Museum Go Round as soon as possible. You all have such good ideas.
Daniel Striped Tiger : Thank you for asking us.
Mr. Strother : It was Lady Aberlin's idea.
Daniel Striped Tiger : Oh, she believes children.
Mr. Strother : I know.
-
Mr. Rogers : Well, make believe people can stop snow like that, but that's not the way snow stops in the real world, is it? I hope you'll make up your own pretend about what the Make Believe Olympic Games are like. You might even want to ask the grown ups who love you what they think Olympic games would be like in a make believe land. You remember the racing towels? Well, that was make believe, wasn't it?
-
Mr. Rogers : [after playing the Neighborhood of Make Believe board game] Well, that's how that game is played. 'Think that's kinda fun. We thought that up ourselves. It's for friends to play. You're my friend.
[sings "You Are Special"]
-
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : Oh honestly. You're grasping at straw.
