- The Monkees are lured to the lab of a mad scientist, only to have their musical abilities, put into a Frankenstein-like monster.
- Dr. Mendoza lures the guys over to his spooky house, claiming there's a child to whom he wants them to teach music. The "child" is actually a Frankstein-type monster. The guys are snatched one by one to the lab. There they are hooked up to a machine and their musical talent is transferred to the monster. The guys' memories are erased so they don't know what happened to them.
The next day, they attempt to play, and find that they can't. Mendoza brings out his monster, who can rock and roll. Mendoza dismisses the Monkees, who can't figure out what happened. Later, their memories return, and they attempt to reverse the process. Mendoza catches them, and he and his monster try to do away with the boys. The guys overcome Mendoza and the monster.
They reverse the process, too, or so they think. When they begin to play, smoke and sparks fly up, indicating that they may have to go back to the lab.
