The synopsis below may give away important plot points.

  • Movie producer Luther Kramm offers the Monkees parts as extras in his latest crappy teen movie. The guys resist until they hear how much they'll get for being in the movie. They're not on the set long when they run afoul of spoiled, egotistical teen idol Frankie Catalina. Frankie insults the guys, and they declare war on him.

The guys ruin every shot that Frankie is in. When he sees the rough cut, Frankie is angry. He tells Kramm that he is walking off of the movie to go do a mystery at Mammouth Studios. After Frankie storms off, Kramm's right hand guy points out that Mammouth has been shut down for years. Kramm concludes maybe that is the mystery.

Micky, Mike and Peter convince Davy that he can step into the part that Frankie left behind. Through trickery, they convince Kramm to give their boy the part. Unfortunately, the attention goes to Davy's head, and he snubs the guys.

They snatch him from the set in the middle of a scene, and then tie him up to a pole until Davy can come to his senses.
