A married couple have their hands full keeping an eye on their cannibalistic monster baby. Moreover, there's a serial killer on the rampage in the neighborhood they live in.
Director Roger Nygard relates the enjoyably goofy story at a quick pace, maintains an engaging tongue-in-cheek tone throughout, and derives a good deal of laughs from the amusing sense of loopy humor. Moreover, it's acted with zest by an enthusiastic cast: Julie Brown as harried mother Wendy, Kevin Nealon as proud father Louis, Peggy Rea as pesky neighbor Babs, and a pre-stardom David Spade as grocery store delivery boy Teddy. The beast baby looks pretty gnarly while the ending is really sweet and even kind of touching. A total hoot.
