The great Foster Brooks as Mindy's new boss
"Mindy Gets Her Job" answers the burning question of what Mindy has been doing since losing her job in her father's music store, looking to be hired for the news room at the small independent TV station KTNS outside Denver. Manager Miles Sternhagen (Foster Brooks) initially turns her down due to lack of experience, but a firm rebuke makes him reverse his decision and hire her, to do the weather report on camera that very evening! With the blizzard getting worse, Mindy finds she's alone at the station with cameraman Jake Loomis (Pat Cranshaw) and the engineer, with only Mork to help deliver the entire news broadcast before they sign off in a half hour. 'Video junkie' Mork reports from 'the Mindy city,' doing an uproarious series of impressions until Mindy can deliver the weather. Once off the air Miles Sternhagen appears, and Foster Brooks gets to do his fabulous drunk routine, congratulating Mindy on a job well done and keeping her on at the station. He only appears in two more episodes but they serve as the third season's highlights.
