Empress Kreeya assembles an army on Earth with her "first-born" daughter Vorpax to attack Outworld. Kreeya has got a special "bee queen" power that enables her to breed thousands of obedient warriors in a kind of gigantic beehive. She also took Shang Tsung prisoner. Kung Lao, Taja and Siro are asked by Vorpax and Kreeya to help them in a battle against their common enemy Shao Khan, now that Shang Tsung is out of the way. But Kung Lao doesn't trust Kreeya and discovers more about her secrets... Pretty good set-up, because between the usual two sides there is a third party, and it is unusual - but fun - to see Shang Tsung share a prison cell with Kung Lao.
