Pretty good whodunit. So who wants to kill prospective bridegroom Hutton. Somebody takes a shot at him and barely misses. Maybe it's that nasty little tip-off guy Stone, so familiar from 30's gangster flicks. Or is it someone in the wedding party they're all rehearsing for, which includes Pam and Jerry. Can't be the prospective bride Stuart, or can it. Nah, she's too cute. Then again, maybe it's the Audrey Hepburn look-alike, Backes, in her fashionable costuming. After all, Hepburn was a hot number in those days, e.g. Roman Holliday (1953). And who's that little plain-faced gal, Landis, lurking in the background. Maybe she's got repressed anger.
Anyway, Lt. Weigand gets more screen time than usual conducting the investigation, while Pam and Jerry supply the charm. And catch those frilly dresses so flavorful of a time gone by. All in all, it's an entertaining line-up with our sparkly twosome in usual fine form.
