Rose comes to the aid of his editor Nigel, who's been taken in by a beautiful girl, and taken £10,000 from his employer. Rose suspects it's the work of Madame de Merteuil, a criminal from his past.
Philip Mackie truly had a great imagination, just read though his writing credits, and you will see all manner of classics.
This is another quality episode from this excellent first series, definitely not a straight laced mystery, this one has a quirky, almost surreal vibe, more of The Avengers vibe here than previous episodes.
I thought the trio of girls were great, and that particular brand of customer service is something I must take not of, and consider to use going forward.
I've seen a fair bit of Maxine Audley, very fine actress, very talented.
Mervyn puts in a tremendous performance once again, oodles of charisma, he's so suave and cool.
7/10.
