Herman The Wrestler
ccthemovieman-129 March 2007
This is a classic episode, remembered well by those of us who have watched this show for many years. Herman becomes "The Masked Marvel," a wrestler. He's doing it to put extra money in the bank for Eddie's college fund.

It came about when Eddie had a friend over, Wilbur, and Herman wowed the kids with exhibitions of his strength. Wilbur's dad is a wrestling promoter, hears about Herman, calls him and invites him to be a wrestler.

Herman accepts, but wants to keep it a secret. Only Grandmpa knows what his "night job" really is, and the rest of the family winds up watching, unknowingly, on television.

Herman's first bout is with Tarzan McGurk. It winds up like his next seven with Herman's soft heart ruining his record.....but his face saving him in the end!

Herman, the Munster heel.
BA_Harrison13 December 2008
In order to raise some extra cash to go towards Eddie's college fund, Herman takes a second job—as a professional wrestler nicknamed The Masked Marvel. With only Grandpa aware of the hulking fighter's true identity, the rest of the Munster family cheer for Herman's opponents, all of whom abuse his kind nature to win their bout.

Herman The Great features the usual plethora of ghoulish puns, a few silly wrestling matches with Herman throwing each fight after hearing sob stories from his opposition, and a fun finale which sees The Masked Marvel becoming a hero after removing his hood to warn spectators of a fire in the arena: when the shocked crowd clock Herman's frightful fizzog, they clear the room in record time! In short, it's not an absolutely unmissable Munster episode, but it passes the time quite nicely.
