When even the eternally cheerful Corky is at her wits end, you know there's trouble in paradise. Due to excessive overtime that includes all weekends, the FYI team is exhausted and argumentative and frustrated. Miles, utilizing passive/aggressive management skills, organizes a retreat in Florida (a state Murphy has never set foot in), and the cynicism of the news team goes into overdrive. The ridiculousness of these exercises are parodied playfully, something that actually brings out their annoyance at each other all the more. When they decide to start taking these exercises seriously, they perform their own Watergate break-in in order to sabotage the other team and get information on the exercise yet to come. It's funny when they break in the office one of the members of the other team comes in and all but Jim hides. It's very clear that Murphy's feet are visible from under the desk but she doesn't see it, distracted by Jim's fake call to the White House. The funny situations and juvenile behavior of the cast adds to the theme that the well meaning exercises really have no point in creating team spirit, and will be particularly amusing to large office staff who have been forced to endure such ridiculous activities.
