I'm not a big fan of TV series and I'm not use to follow every week the shows, except things like "The Simpsons" or "South Park". In Mexico "My Name is Earl" airs on cable TV, I think in the channel FX and Fox. Anyway I have the lucky enough to watch some episodes and I just love it. The characters are great, the stories are really funny and really intelligent and there's always a good message.

Last weekend I found in offer the DVD box of Season 1 and I don't missed the chance to finally watch this show since the very beginning, anytime time I want/can and without the damn commercials.

The first episode is the pilot and is basically the introduction to the character of Earl and how he discovers a thing called karma. The first minutes of the episode are just hilarious showing that Earl's life was a complete mess but all of us have some hope. And here is the beginning of an endless list of the bad things, actually there are about 200 things that now Earl wants to repair for end with his Karma and for be, finally, a good person.

Conclusion: This is a very good episode with a terrific introduction to the life of Earl and friends. 9 out of 10

great series, a crackup from the beginning

"you know that guy you see going to the convenience store when you stop off in a little town on your way to your grandma's house? the kinda guy you wait to come out before you and your family go in?" well, that guy is... Earl

Like he says, he's exactly who you think he is. A thoughtless, rude and stupid guy who's always been a bully. But what the series is about is his change: by watching TV, he gets enlightened and learns about karma.

He then tries to make up for all the bad things he's done. But doing good isn't easy, there's always a lot of repercussions you don't expect.

The gags are great, and the system of flashbacks is very effective.
