The professor is winded from dating an energy-filled colleague, modern dance instructor Marjorie Bradshaw (Bridget Hanley). Nanny (Juliet Mills) takes the children to school and then to Mr. Havermyer's (elderly, fun character actor Burt Mustin- "The Andy Griffith Show") workshop to repair the professor's old radio to put in her Model A- Arabella. After Hal (David Doremus) installs it for her, she turns it on to find that it appears to be broadcasting from the 1930s, as the announcer is promoting new talents such as Harry James and Benny Goodman. The family begins constantly listening to the programming, affecting the professor at work. A visit to Mr. Havermyer reveals the predictable reason why they're getting "The Big Broadcast of 1936". However, it may not be the cause in true Twilight Zone fashion.
