Eli and Nellie have come into possession of some valuable, vintage pickles, the fifty year old snacks are reputed to help make virility, the rumour even known by The Church.
Perhaps the daftest episode to date, but still a very funny watch, I like that the pickle factory itself plays a central role here, it's been somewhat incidental so far, here it really is the main focus.
Joe Gladwin was a delight as Stan, such an over the top character, but loaded with charisma, comedy fans would have been well aware of him in the 60's and 70's.
Willoughby Goddard is very funny as Arnold, for me he was best known in The Mind of Mr J G Reader, an impressive stature of a man, as a big guy myself, it's unusual to see such a sizeable chap in the 60's, it didn't halt his acting career.
If love to know what would happen to pickles preserved in vinegar for an age.....
Over the top, good fun, 8/10.
