- Tired of everyone borrowing from him, Rabbit runs away, and ends up in a toy store window for sale.
- Rabbit has grown discontented with people constantly asking to borrow things from him, but when it seems that his friends have even forgotten his Birthday (due to an unforeseen accident involving Pooh, honey, and his calendar), Rabbit decides to run away. In the process, he ends up being picked up by a man and taken to a store. The man proclaims that Rabbit appears to be very special, and puts a tag with the word 'Special' around his neck, certain that someone will want to buy him.
Meanwhile, Eeyore tells the others about Rabbit running away and being picked up. The others quickly head into town to look for their friend. Tigger finds him in the store window, but Rabbit chastises Tigger that all his friends seem to ever do is borrow things from him, and do not know how to treat him as a true friend.
Tigger turns his head for a moment to consider these words, but when he turns back, Rabbit has disappeared! He tells the others about Rabbit being in the store window with a 'Special' tag, but since it's late and the store is closed, Christopher Robin decrees they will come back in the morning to buy Rabbit back.
Meanwhile, Rabbit has been accosted by three gruff, stuffed animals (who look almost like thuggish versions of Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger). They demand he give them the 'Special' tag, but he refuses. After a lengthy chase through the store, the three ruffians get the tag, and set themselves up in the store window, certain that the tag will make Christopher Robin buy them.
The next day, Christopher comes to the store, and asks the man who runs it to purchase Rabbit. Giving him his piggy bank, the man explains that Christopher doesn't have enough money. He then offers a jar of Pooh's honey, as well as some other things from the others. Even with all these things, the man claims they aren't enough for a 'Special' Rabbit.
Christopher is about to leave, when Pooh suggests something to him. The young boy then offers his love for his friend, and the gesture allows the man to give Rabbit to him, shocking the three stuffed animals who had stolen the 'Special' tag. As Christopher and Rabbit leave, Rabbit tells the three that someday they too will be special, and be purchased as well, causing the three to soften a bit from their hardened selves.
The episode then ends showing Christopher Robin and the others throwing a surprise party for Rabbit on his actual Birthday. Even the crows who pester Rabbit and terrorize his garden stop by on civil terms, and Rabbit is pleased when one of them cuts and serves him a slice of cake.
Thinking the others have forgotten his birthday, Rabbit decides to run away, and ends up being for sale in the front window of a toy store.
