Henry Gibson guest stars

Michael is looking for a kid's show host called Giddy Goose and the actor he hires turns out to be his long lost father.

A good episode and it's great to see former Laugh In star Gibson again. The audience gives him an ovation on his entrance so they still remember him. He makes a good father for Michael, both look physically similar, have the same glasses and even cry the same way. Dick has him as a guest on Vermont Today and he ends up pouring his heart out and Michael reconciles with him

Couldn't Get Much Worse

Henry Gibson had a storied career on television. I remember him as the judge on Boston Legal and many other supporting roles. But this show is really bad. Peter Scolari does his crying thing again as the cancer spread through what was once a delightful show. There are so many character actors making up this cast and a genius comedian in Bob Newhart, and yet they write another one for Stephanie and Michael and their entitled world. Gibson is audition to be a goose on a children's show. It turns out he is Michael's estranged father. I could not think of one funny thing. Well maybe when Gibson refers to his liver and Dick corrects him by saying Pate.
