- [Charlie laughs as he and Amita leave the train museum, as he realizes the docent has slipped Amita his phone number]
- Charlie Eppes: Look at this. "If you ever decide to eat again, call me." The docent. You think you... you think you will?
- Amita Ramanujan: Eat? Yeah. Call him? No. He is not my type.
- Charlie Eppes: I'm sorry, does that ever work? Just coming out and being so... obvious?
- Amita Ramanujan: Well, if it's the right guy, sure. It certainly beats the alternative.
- Charlie Eppes: Hm. What do you mean?
- Amita Ramanujan: Having no idea whether or not a man is interested in you.
- Charlie Eppes: You really can't tell?
- Amita Ramanujan: Generally that IS how you tell. You know, they make a move. Otherwise...
- [She sees their friend sitting dejectedly at a fountain, and doesn't finish her thought]
- Amita Ramanujan: Larry, are you all right?
- [Charlie and Amita listen to Larry bemoan having broken the heart of a friend who became more than that recently, and then he sighs and leaves them sitting at the fountain together with a final thought]
- Dr. Larry Fleinhardt: ...I don't know. Combining friendship and romance - exceedingly risky.
- [Charlie looks at Amita thoughtfully]
- [At the end of the episode, Charlie and Amita are leaving the FBI office]
- Amita Ramanujan: Well this has turned out to be a really good day. You helped the FBI, and I managed to convince Larry to ask out Professor Wilson.
- Charlie Eppes: Really? How'd you change his mind.
- Amita Ramanujan: I used game theory, which says people will take bigger risks for bigger gain. I pointed out that he has the opportunity to turn a good friendship into a great romance.
- Charlie Eppes: And he actually bought that from you?
- Amita Ramanujan: He wants to do it; he just needed a good reason.
- Charlie Eppes: I know.
- [They arrive at the elevator]
- Charlie Eppes: Amita, you know, you and I have been working really closely together these last couple weeks. And I've had a great time. Actually, um, I was, uh, just wondering if...
- Don Eppes: [Don walks up, interrupting the moment]
- Don Eppes: Hey, Charlie? Excuse me, I'm sorry, Amita can you give us one sec?
- Amita Ramanujan: Yeah, sure, I'll wait for you downstairs.
- Don Eppes: Thanks. Sorry, did I interrupt...?
- Charlie Eppes: [looking annoyed] Yes, you did. What is it.
- Don Eppes: Well, look, I just wanted to tell you that you're doing great work here, and...
- Charlie Eppes: Oh.
- [he brightens a little]
- Charlie Eppes: Well... well. Thanks. Thank you.
- Don Eppes: You know, I don't know anyone who could have done what you did with those notes, and I want you to know, I don't take for granted what you do.
- Charlie Eppes: I never thought you did.
- Don Eppes: Good.
- [he nods]
- Don Eppes: So, what's the deal, you gonna ask her out already?
- Charlie Eppes: [laughs] Well...
- Don Eppes: Don't wait too long, man, or somene's gonna snatch her up.
- [Charlie gets a worried look as Don walks away]
