The Gamble (#1.3)

Warning: Spoilers
While Ryan is in the juvie Seth works on getting Kristen to get Ryan in with them. After she goes to visit him she can't stand him there and takes him home. They find his mother but she feels it is best for her to live him with a better family as she can't take care of him. And Sandy and Julie find out about the 100000 loan.

Well when watching jail scenes it was laughable the way they portrayed it. But there weren't too many of them. This episode actually had more good than bad parts.

For once I am glad they finally resolved where Ryan will stay, now we can move on. Liked scenes with his mother. Good acting and its a pretty good character. Don't see her as a bad mother just a person with a bad life herself, being an alcoholic doesn't make one bad. And she didn't abandon him, she chose what is best for him.

The whole casino themed night was great. So much drama going on there, a great scene, very well done.

Welcome to The Cohens!

Warning: Spoilers
Sandy comes to Ryan's rescue once again, after he has a difficult stay in Juvenile Hall. Seth makes Kirsten aware of his anger over Ryan's situation, and Kirsten makes a compromise. Ryan's mother, Dawn, makes a surprise visit to Newport, and things don't go quite as she and Ryan may have planned. Also the monetary secret involving Julie, Jimmy, Kirsten and Sandy comes to a head.

I loved the scenes with Seth and Summer in the casino, even though they're short, it's really funny the irony and sarcasm that Seth spreads around him.

In this episode Kirsten decides to adopt Ryan and from this moment on, Atwood's life in the O.C. begins.

The One With Casino Night...

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. It's very entertaining.

In this episode, Ryan has a difficult night in Juvenile Hall for his arson charge. Remember, the house he accidentally burnt down. Kirsten agrees to bail Ryan out of jail, and to let him stay with the family, temporarily, thanks to Seth. Ryan's Mother, Dawn, makes a surprise visit, which doesn't go swimmingly. Meanwhile, everyone goes to a Casino Night for charity, which is where Seth finally gets some face time with Summer.

Overall, I give this episode an 8 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Awesome.

It's a gamble on ratings...

Daphne Ashbrook returns as Dawn Atwood when Sandy tracks her down. He begs her to come to the house and confront Ryan about her abandonment. Ryan isn't having it. As Ryan and Dawn try to work things out, Kirsten realizes that she's gotta warm up to Ryan because she might be the only mom he has.

Kirsten has some major development over the episode than any other character, I think. Peter Gallagher really shows his skills as an actor and the conflict between Luke and Ryan is fun to watch. It's great to see Ryan try to change. It's great to see Marissa hide how she feels about Ryan.

It's a decent episode, I'm just not a big fan of Dawn Atwood. I could be bias toward the character for the mere fact that she's an unloving mother and I can never forgive her for what she did to Ryan.
