Peter's (Michael Callan) boss Mr. Brahms (Jack Collins) is having his accountant do the employees taxes. He'll be forced to claim his assumed wife Greta (Patricia Harty) as a dependent, thus committing fraud. Peter draws the suspicion of the accountant Mr. Hanes (Oscar-nominated composer Frank De Vol, "The Brady Bunch"). Mr. Brahms throws a return signing party at Peter's workplace. Peter takes his return home, but Mr. Brahms follows him to check on a supposedly sick Greta. Cornered, she has no choice but to sign and Mr. Brahms mails the return. With a lengthy jail sentence on their doorstep, they must take action. Peter and Greta go to the IRS pretending to be a Hollywood writing team gathering information on a movie plot that is the same as their situation. They learn their fate is more grim than they thought and face an uphill battle to clear themselves.
