Felix's daughter appears for the first time
Jimmy_the_Gent417 September 2017
Felix is having a birthday party for his daughter Edna but Oscar is having a big poker game the same day.

A very funny episode with Pamelyn Ferdin debuting as Edna. She had previously appeared as a bratty kid in "Bunny Is Missing Down By The Lake" in Season 1. She is a good choice as Edna, a sort of mini version of Felix.Oscar doesn't think Edna likes him, Felix says "Didn't she bring you a present the last time she was here?" Oscar: "Yeah a can of room freshener". Hal Smith (Otis from "The Andy Griffith Show") guests as a drunken clown Felix hires for the party.

THE FIRST CLOWN I HAVE SEEN WITH AN ADDING MACHINE!
tcchelsey8 August 2023
This episode is soooo relatable, especially if you have had a room mate, as you well know anything can go wrong at precisely the wrong time any, any time.

Felix schedules a birthday party for his daughter at the same time Oscar is having the boys over for a poker game. Who wins this debate? Its the proverbial tug of war between the two roomies, of course with interference from Felix's cute daughter, played by Pamelyn Ferdin. Ferdin was everywhere on tv at this time, an enormously talented and popular child actress in both comedy and dramatic roles.

Watch this one just to see what happens next, as it's classic ODD COUPLE. Two super scenes; Oscar trying to locate a ringing phone in his trash filled room, also Oscar making baloney sandwiches and Felix topping a birthday cake in the kitchen. Lots of yelling, as usual.

Look for Hal Smith (ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW) playing a clown for hire and his list of kooky disguises and gags. His shoes explode, just for kicks.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 12 (1971) ABC/Paramount dvd box set.
