The One With The Father/Son Game...

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode. It was a good followup to the previous, as it should be.

In this episode, the aftermath of the disastrous party, and car crash, is rearing its ugly head. Peyton meets up with the Coach at the cemetery, where they discuss her deceased Mother, and Coach's late wife, Camilla. Everyone on the Ravens is preparing for the Father/Son game. Nathan is captain of the sons, and of course, Dan is captain of the Fathers. Keith joins the Fathers team in support of Lucas. When the game is going, Dan is the only one not having fun. He is determined to show everyone that he can kick his son's butt on the court. Wow, that's super douchey of him. What a great parent.

Overall, I give this episode a 7 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Great.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is all about the past continuing to haunt different characters. The newspaper article serves to remind Dan about his mistakes with Karen and Lucas, and also about Keith being the father figure without the benefits of being the husband figure. The anniversary of Peytons mother triggers a downward spiral on an issue that she is still trying to resolve 7 years later. I liked finding out that Peytons mum was a Cheerleader too. It serves to explain why Peyton is.

Finally someone said what I've been thinking about Lucas changing his name, and it was Dan. I guess I can be happy that we share the same view, then all of a sudden Lucas agrees! However simultaneously I've come to realize that Keith is a Scott too, and Keith is the father figure and that's why Lucas is a Scott, not because of Dan. For Lucas to change his name is an insult to Keith, but also in a way makes him redundant. Keith would lose his claim to remain in their lives.

Another random thought that occurred to me is how are Lucas and Nathan in the same grade at school? Dan and Deb weren't together yet when LUcas was born. So how does that work?

I think it was too much of a co-incidence for Lucas to guess that Hayley's bracelet was from Nathan. Are teenage boys really that in tune? Are teenage girls for that matter? I'm going to deduct a point just for the bracelet, harsh but fair.
