The dolls had to be heavily altered and disguised in their appearance by the props department as they were too anatomically explicit to be used in their original form.

The first episode of the show to attract controversy because of blowup dolls in a family show. They were bought from a sex shop in Soho by the show's props buyer. The show was accused of overstepping the mark for the first time, and parents complained to the BBC about how they were supposed to explain to their children what the dolls were used for. David Jason thought it an overreaction since the dolls were clothed.
The minor character Clayton Cooper would appear again in Pilot (2010) as the boyfriend of Reenie Turpin. He does not appear in Five Gold Rings (2010) or The Frog and the Pussycat (2011), although it is unknown if he was to return in any of the four unproduced episodes.
In this episode it is revealed that Denzil has established a new company, Transworld Express. This company is mentioned in a number of later episodes, such as Mother Nature's Son (1992) and marks a permanent career change for the character.
