She's Really an Old Timer
Hitchcoc29 April 2014
This is quite interesting. Fred Savage (late of "The Wonder Years") shows up at his parent's house for dinner along with a beautiful young woman who he is quite interested in. When his father spots the woman, he is utterly distracted. He knows this woman, but his last contact with him was in Vietnam where he guarded a medical installation. This young woman was strapped down and was apparently being abused by what appears to be a doctor and his associate. She is screaming for help and when the two medical men leave, he goes in and assists her. The "doctor" comes back and pulls a gun on the young MP, but, in the process, fires his gun, causing a huge explosion. The weird thing is that this woman has not aged a day in twenty years. Meanwhile, because of the father's weird behavior, tension builds. At the same time, the evil man has gotten wind of the survival of the woman he was assaulting and heads toward the family home. She talks to the husband and tells him that she is indeed the same woman and has been alive for centuries. They had a sexual encounter just that one time and he has been carrying around all that guilt. He asks to see a birthmark but the son bursts in and things get really complicated. Things come to a head. I guess if one is willing to accept her story, we can buy this. The ending made me say, "What." Things fizzle a bit at that point and it was almost laughable.

The kid was Just That

An excellent episode that has a lot in common with the Twilight Zone episode "Long Live Walter Jameson". Except there were differences in detail.

I believe the kid here was the ultimate creep.

A interesting story that ends completely in "wait, wha-?"

So, we learn from this episode that old man Frank is expecting his son and his girlfriend to visit. Danny shows up with a girlfriend that looks exactly like someone he knew in the past. The young woman named Jade is very Very in love with his son Danny. Strange that that coincidence happened. Out of everyone in the world... Anyway Jade is somehow the freak accident of a plague that wiped out her village, but strangely, made her unable to age... interesting.

Then we skipped the middle and Jade is being experimented on by the Army, in a very "not secure and downright dangerous" place. O-okay.

Frank saves her, they do the thing in the sheets for who knows how long and they mysteriously go their separate ways... wait what?

This is where the episode goes completely off the rails and we find that evil scientist survived, tracked Jade down and decided, in his brilliant mind, to overdose on her ageless blood and he turns into primordial puddle... what?! So just because this lady's DNA mixed with his, he turns into a puddle?!

Did anyone tell these writers: You know DNA is in saliva and other body fluids rights? According to this movie, she should be untouchable. But I guess conveniently, her DNA only has two settings: none and instant death... very convenient for the plot... but yeah, it sacrificed an interesting story for shock value. At least they got their money's worth, this episode is the most memorable...
