An overzealous archaeologist makes the discovery of the century when she finds an alien life form buried in a cave. She and her cohorts, including her long suffering husband, work to get the thing cleaned up. She is afraid to call in experts, fearing they will steal her credit. Meanwhile, the people who have worked with her, lo these many years, stage a mutiny, led by Robert Picardo, the holographic doctor on Star Trek Voyager. He sees big bucks here and fears she is just after credit and will leave them with nothing to show for all their efforts. It doesn't take long to talk the other guys into following him. They know she is an incredibly strong personality. She has been pushing her husband around since they married and he is near the end of his rope. Things get really complicated because the thing begins to regenerate and come to life. The husband has touched it and a kind of force goes through his body and he sees horrible creatures attacking. It is in the mind of the alien. It all went well to here. The way they end it is another example of an inability to close the case. My reaction was, "Did I just waste a whole hour." Not terrible but very disappointing and not character driven at all.
