Cheryl Ladd and Cindy Cassell

"Double Trouble" again resembles a BRADY BUNCH episode, with future CHARLIE'S ANGEL Cheryl Ladd as Johanna, who turns down Keith's invitation to a weekend beach party, as she has a date with her regular boyfriend Spider. A desperate Keith allows Laurie to ask one of her high school friends, Sally Winkler (Cindy Cassell, last of three), who would be happy to go with him; that is, until Johanna announces she needs a date because Spider will be out of town. Keith naturally crumbles, and asks Reuben's advice on how to dump 'nice' girls, which doesn't sit well with Bonnie Kleinschmidt (Elaine Giftos, her fourth and final appearance). Unable to say no to Johanna, Keith fakes a bad cold in front of Sally, with the expected results (maybe it could have worked better with Greg and Marcia). Cheryl Ladd, still using her maiden name Stoppelmoor, had nearly a dozen TV credits by this time, four years prior to her breakthrough on CHARLIE'S ANGELS. The featured song, taken from eighth LP BULLETIN BOARD, is "Oh No, Not My Baby," composed by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, a cover of Maxine Brown's Top 40 hit from 1964 (peaking at #24), which would be issued concurrently by Rod Stewart's Faces, peaking at #59 on Billboard's Singles chart.
