Wrongly Involved

Warning: Spoilers
Drama hits again for the Salingers, following a time of relative peace. After breaking up with Sarah through a letter, a depressed Bailey tells his sponsor from AA, John, that he wants to drink again, because the main reason of not drinking now is gone. John tells him that is good to not depend on someone so much, because is like he was addicted to Sarah, but Bailey doesn't agree, saying she was like a crutch for a good reason, to stay sober. Besides, Will, seemingly his sisters and Griffin coldly told him to see the positive things, that now he is free and took control of his life. I think that Charlie and Kirsten didn't tell Bailey those cold words, considering their own love story, besides, in 5x25 they were willing to cancel their 2nd engagement party for him (because Sarah broke the engagement), so they must be more compassive towards him, they understand his pain. That's why it would have been good to see some scenes shows how each family member talked to Bailey about the break up with Sarah. Also, they should have talked about how it affected Owen, considering that Sarah usually helped him in late season 5 and during the summer. Anyway, Will and Griffin try useless, unsuccesful attempts to cheer Bailey up, like taking him to a strip club. He's not in the mood (and he never was that kind of guy), he doesn't want to get in there, so Will tells how he had to spend the last weeks "watching him", while he has to deal with his own problems. Will says that his parents want to kick him out of the house if he doesn't resigns from the internship at the Wrestling Fed (his dad's new favourite words "damn well better"), and now wants to distract himself. Bailey agrees in going in, but then, bored, he leaves, and goes to a bar. At the same time, he starts neglecting Owen, by leaving Victor in charge of him, while Joe manages the restaurant. In the bar, he meets a woman, Tracy, who also has relationship problems, they connect and spend a night together. Later, he offers Will to move into the house, because he needs to be around people, surely thinking about staying sober. Everything seems ok for Bailey until she tells him she is married. It's clear that Bailey is lost without Sarah. Still, he told Tracy about Sarah, admitting that there's no one to blame for the break up. And that's the truth, Sarah can't blame him for ending the relationship if she is staying indefinitely 3000 miles away and he can't blame her for avoiding a "married life" being 20 in 1999. On the other hand, Griffin finds Daphne in the strip club, and later comforts her, saying he is no one to judge. Daphne is not proud of doing that job now, but for her is convenient because pay and hours. It's good that Griffin made Daphne feel better, but he shouldn't get involved with her.

Julia wants to introduce Evan to her family in Salinger's (not to Charlie and Kirsten, they are not in family dinner today), but he doesn't want to. Claudia disapproves the relationship because the decades of difference (I totally agree), Joe obviously approves it and says his separation with Franny had nothing to do with the age, Owen, Victor doesn't comment, while Bailey is too distracted and depressed to care. At the end, Julia pushes so much that Evan reveals to his coworkers the relationship. I don't like this story, Julia is still far away of the person that her parents and Charlie would want her to be. Besides, it's like she doesn't give a dam for her proffesional career as a writer, what the writers wanted to do here? Did Neve complained about this? Good fans of the show, please skip this part. As for Claudia, she feels jealous, affected when she learns that Cameron is back together with Alexa, so she accepts to go to a party in Derek's house. Previously, Alexa told her that Derek was interested, so at some point, Claudia, took Derek to a room in the house, probably to fool around or talk, but Derek got the wrong idea and almost rapes her. She escapes and the next day she stay in bed all day, and not even Julia can help her to get up. This was the saddest story here. This proves that Cody was a better guy than it seemed. Poor Claudia.

As for Charlie and Kirsten, things are out of control when Myra starts to get involved in their lives. In the first scene, the couple is in the doctor for the extraction for IVF, where 5 follicles can be seen, but Charlie gets a call from a pharmacist who caught Myra stealing, her mother is unreachable, so Kirsten, probably trying to be selfless, tells him to help Myra. She asks Dr Vazquez if 5 follicles is fine, he confirms and tells her that she'll have anesthesia for the procedure so she must be taken care of after the retrieval. Then, Charlie takes Myra out the pharmacy and goes to see her mother Mrs Wringler, but the woman claims Myra is independant since she was 7 and that is ok. He disagrees but he can't convince her that she's neglecting her daughter. The next day, Charlie is helping his wife get into bed after the extraction (while the phone rings and the message of Kirsten saying "Hi, you reached the Salinger residence, please leave a message for Kirsten or Charlie or both"), and Daphne brings her an aspirine, when Myra calls again asking help, but this time, Charlie, busy taking care of his wife, says he can't help now. In the night, a drunk Myra is taken by the police to the apartment, so Charlie and Kirsten welcome her, and she sleeps in the couch. In the morning, Kirsten gives her coffee and offers cornflakes or raisins, and Myra says Charlie never mentioned her (check the ring on his left hand, that's easy). Kirsten doesn't seem surprised by this and later, while drinking coffee, tells Charlie she can't believe how Mrs Wringler neglects her daughter, while they try so hard to have their own child, spending thousands of dollars. Charlie calls the school, so Myra then stops again in the apartment telling him to take back that call. Charlie says he can't. In the meantime, 3 pre embryos are ready to be implanted (a really happy scene for them, and Kirsten is excited that she is a mom), so Kirsten needs Charlie to be with her the next day for the procedure. But all turns out bad when Charlie is accused by Myra's mother of sexual assault towards Myra, and busy at the principal's office, he misses Kirsten's procedure, who is alone and worried in the clinic. Dr Vazquez tells her to relax and offers to bring some magazine through a nurse, but she only asks if Charlie left a message, surely guessing something bad must have happened. Those last scenes were sad, because if I were Charlie, I wouldn't miss Kirsten's procedure for anything in the world. Considering how sensitive she is to dramatic situations, Charlie should reach his wife as soon as possible, after all, if now she's off the medication (lithium), any risk of worries, stress, must be avoided. Also, concerning what happened, it's strange he didn't mention to the Principal of Grant that his wife was always with him when Myra slept in the couch, that should be enough evidence to dismiss the accusation. Mrs Wringler surely doesn't even know that Kirsten and Charlie took care of Myra that day, so she has nothing to back up her claim. So overall, it was a good story, but the end was kind of sad and unfair. Leaving that aside, for what was said, seems like Kirsten wouldn't send her children to school in a bus, a muni. I guess that she or Charlie would drive them everyday, and considering how much she wants to have their own child, how much she is fighting, she probably will be an overprotective mother.

Warning: Spoilers
Evan doesn't want to meet family. Claudia meets a guy who is trying to sexually assault her. Charlie is helping a troubled student but this goes in a bad direction. Bailey struggles with the wish to drink again. Griffin meets Daphne is a strip club.

Wow the story with Charlie is becoming interesting. Now he is accused of having sexual relations with a student. I wonder where this will go. Will definitely be interesting.

Bailey sitting there staring at his drink was definitely a great scene. It portrayed so well what he was thinking about and what he wanted.

Griffin talking to Daphne about her job was also a great scene. At this point I already can't believe I disliked Griffiin in the beginning. He sure is the kind that one needs to learn to love but now he seems to be the nicest most reasonable person there
