Natalie has baked a banana sponge cake for the annual church bazaar contest. This is unknown to Patty who slices into it and has a piece. When Natalie asks her to take it to the church, Patty tries to salvage it to no avail. She talks housekeeper Mrs. Williams (Margaret Hamilton, "The Wizard of Oz") into baking another one. This time Ross unknowingly carves out a slice. Mrs. Williams works only the one day a week and has left for the day. Patty, Cathy, and Ross have two hours to bake another cake. Patty messes up the measurements and decides to add some additional ingredients. While baking, the cake swells to enormous proportions. Patty: "Maybe we should cut it in half and enter it twice." In doing so, it deflates. Patty hurries to Brown's Bakery to buy a cake from Mr. Brown (George S. Irving) and rushes it to the bazaar. Things get complicated when she wasn't the only one to have that idea, and the judge is revealed. But, they'll be yet another revelation.
