Actor David Dundas (pianist Joe Brand) later switched career paths to composing and performing music, including 1976 single "Jeans On", the soundtrack of Withnail & I (1987) and "Fourscore", the Channel 4 ident music in the UK. As the younger son of a marquess, he is entitled to use the courtesy title of Lord.
Fuller's noted Griffin Brewery building in Chiswick, West London (home to the UK's oldest wisteria plant, planted in 1816) can be seen behind Brand at the opening of the episode as he boards his boat Cetus. Charlie Gulliver is later seen drinking cans of Fuller's pale ale at the club.
