"Up from the Underworld"
JordanThomasHall23 January 2019
At the library Peter runs into an old comic friend Smitty Travers (Wally Vernon). Smitty is signing copies of his autobiography "Dis Must Be De Plaze!: The Life Story of a Burlesque Comic". It was entirely ghostwritten by the successful Al Burton (Jack Weston), who Smitty introduces Peter to. It invokes Peter to write his own biography. Meanwhile, Leslie's application is being considered for acceptance into the prestigious Oakwynn School. Peter writing a book seems to improve her chances. When Peter struggles to get started he hires Al Burton. Unknown to Peter, Burton has been hit with a familiar subpoena from someone he has written about, as he invents outlandish stories for effect. Peter regals Burton with his life story, but he doesn't use any of it. He instead writes the first chapter about Peter dealing with gangsters in Chicago- a story he gives to the Oakdell newspaper for money. Can Peter repair the damage to his reputation and Leslie's school chances?
