An interesting, gritty drama.

Wally and Lillian have barricaded their front door and refuse to leave, Wally sits armed with a gun and an axe, it transpires that a compulsory purchase order has been made, and the pair are being evicted.

Very gritty, very well acted, fairly bleak, and definitely worth an hour and a half of your time.

I saw the title, Murder rap, and expected some sort of Whodunnit, a murder mystery, but as always with Play for Today, it's not what I was expecting.

A story about integration, or rather the lack of it, and it's a story that's perhaps as relevant today, as it was back in 1980.

Of course it's of its time, and there is some abhorrent content and language, it feels like a gritty, realistic look at that very real prejudices that existed at the time.

A top notch cast, with some excellent performances, another gritty Play for today entry.

7/10.
