I am warning you ahead of time..."Nightmare on a Sunday Morning" is a tough episode to watch. You may want to keep some kleenex handy and if you've been a victim of sexual assault, you might consider skipping this one.
A woman is kidnapped and held for many hours, during which time she's repeated raped by two creeps. Eventually, they toss her out of the vehicle and she manages to get to the police. They assign a special female officer (Hope Lange) who is trained in such cases and helps the victim through the process....from identifying the assailants to testifying against them in court.
I really appreciated this episode, as in the 1970s there weren't that many shows that talked about rape. Additionally, it was wonderful how it showed the after effects of the assault. In other words, she wasn't just shown as a victim but dealt with her path to surviving and overcoming this trauma. A very brave and important episode...well handled and well worth your time.
