Routine just routine, but efficient.

Good story this episode, but a little too much predictable for my own taste. But it's a good job anyway with good performance to pull the whole stuff. Police officers investigate after some robberies, nothing more, unlike some other episode of the show, but, I repeat, fairly done. Tense, taut, sharp, fast paced, typical for the seventies. But I won't remind this tale that much. Jackie Cooper is convincing, as usual in his other performances. He plays here the head officer of the crew. Yes, very convincing. I will maybe remember the scene when the cops warn the bank employees about the next robbery. Joe Santos is also in the run. A very known face in those seventies stuff, crime films and series.

One of My Favorites

This is one of my favorite episodes in the Police Story tv series. It captures the nature of the entire series: down and gritty, very factual (no bulletproof vests for the regular officers and just 38s in a bank stakeout, no special weapons--OK, hotloads. but only one per officer), and quite emotional in terms of the adrenalin and the feelings of the officers and a commander sticking up for his men.

Not among the more enjoyable episodes.

I am a big fan of "Police Story" and love my Season One DVDs. Sadly, however, the rest of the shows are not available on disc and the only way I am aware of that you can see them is to find them on YouTube...and SOME of the episodes are posted there.

Compared to the several dozen episodes I've already seen, "Robbery: 48 Hours" is a lot less enjoyable. It even comes off as choppy and less fun. Why is this? Well, it's fundamentally different from other episodes because instead of focusing on one cop or a team of two cops, this one is about a unit which is working to stop armed robberies--and there are tons of men in this unit. Because of that, the personal touch is missing. Now I am NOT saying it's bad...but it is noticeably less enjoyable and well made because of the style. Still worth seeing....but a bit of a disappointment.
