Episode 11 "How Sharper Than a Servant's Tooth"
kevinolzak3 June 2010
This 11th episode picks up the storyline between Charlotte and Theodore, who learns that she has decided to quit because of her feelings for him (Charlotte: "I couldn't take it any longer, the ache of wanting you from afar...there are so many things about you that I will cherish, the way you just walk in and light up a room!" Theodore: "I light up a room? You're like a flaming thing that sets fire to my...you know!"). Caitlyn shows up with Theodore to try to comfort her mother (Caitlyn: "must you dawdle? Where is it written that overwhelming melancholia and a sense of impending doom means you can't shake a leg? Mummy needs us, you have the rest of your life to be depressed!" Theodore: "take that to the bank!"). Bill has to postpone his third year anniversary with Jordan due to his wife's despondency, driving Jordan to try to bribe Charlotte into reconsidering: $500, a new car, a condo, 10% of a catering truck...eventually, Jordan realizes that she and Charlotte are both involved with married men (Jordan: "they're all the same!" Charlotte: "not my guy! What we have is different, maybe it's not full of steam and secret underwear, but it's the most exciting thing I've ever known... and it works for me, and you're telling me to just throw it all away? Well who the Hell do you think you are ma'am?"). While Caitlyn and Pierce are fixing dinner, Charlotte sneaks back in to tell Theodore she's not leaving ("it's a woman thing!"), not wanting Margaret to know she has returned (Charlotte: "I don't want her to see me yet, I'll just sneak up the back way!" Theodore: "back way? I didn't know there was a back way!" Charlotte: "you do now!").
