WOW! JIMMY BERLUTI'S CLOSING ARGUMENT...
dirkdirkreedreed26 May 2020
...is the single most profound explanation of criminal defense work I've ever heard! Of course, it was written by the genius, David E. Kelley, and was delivered by Michael Badalucco, who most deservedly won an Emmy Award for his performance in this series. I must have played this short speech over at least a dozen times while writing down every single word, and I'm still stunned and overwhelmed by its brilliance. I get criminal defense lawyers now! WOW!!!

No Easy Answers...Just the Law

When Jimmy defends his firm against a defamation lawsuit that could ruin them, his value rises. This is so realistic in that he must face the realities of Plan B and the disdain of his colleagues. I agree with the other reviewer, that the closing was priceless. It is unfortunate that when a defendant is breathing his last, facing long imprisonment, then the gloves come off. This may be my favorite episode of them all. And I can't help it...that Lucy is so doggone cute!
