- Lizzie Birdsworth: [on Cass] What a waste! She'd make a marvellous bash artist; all brawn and no brain.
- Colleen Powell: [advising Meg on her problem with Randi] Don't throw in the towel yet. She may get run over by a truck or something.
- [Joan is stood just inside Judy's cell watching her make the bed]
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: That's right, Bryant, nice and neat. You're not in that flophouse now, are you? You're home. Isn't that right?
- [pause]
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Answer me, Bryant!
- Judy Bryant: Yes, Miss Ferguson.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Killing Kent off like that isn't going to make you too polular with the other women. But I'm sure Smith will understand.
- [she moves into her space]
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Do you think Smith'll understand, Bryant?
- Judy Bryant: Yes, Miss Ferguson.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Good! Then why don't you write and tell her... at Barnhurst.
- Judy Bryant: [stops making the bed and turns to look at her] You're lying.
- [Joan laughs]
- Judy Bryant: You're lying!
- [Joan goes to leave]
- Judy Bryant: You're liar!
- [Joan shuts the cell door behind her leaving Judy screaming, calling her a liar and bashing the door with her fists]
- Lizzie Birdsworth: Bea's gawn, love.
- Judy Bryant: Yeah. I know.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: We're in a n awful mess here. Do you know what the Freak told me? She said that you killed little Haze. Now why would she say a thing like that?
- Judy Bryant: Lizzie, you're gonna have to try and understand...
- Lizzie Birdsworth: It isn't true, is it, Jude?
- Judy Bryant: Yes.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: But... why, Jude? Haze never hurt anyone, except herself.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: Lizzie, please try and understand, okay?
- Lizzie Birdsworth: [in tears] Understand what? All I know in here is that you killed a mate, so what is there to understand?
- [Lizzie is ignoring Judy in the dining room]
- Pixie Mason: I wish you'd make up, Lizzie; she looks awful sad.
- Petra Roberts: Just talk to her. It wont do any harm.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: The harm has already been done.
- [Phyllis is let into Judy's cell after lights out]
- Judy Bryant: How the hell did you get in here?
- Phyllis Hunt: None of your business. I'm here to collect.
- [she throws a bottle on her bed]
- Judy Bryant: [picks it up] What's this?
- Phyllis Hunt: Booze! A buck a bottle and you don't have any trouble.
- Judy Bryant: I think you got lost in the dark, Phyllis; I didn't order any booze. Now take it and go away.
- Phyllis Hunt: It's not that simple, Jude; you buy it whether you want it or not. And you also owe me two bucks protection money.
- Judy Bryant: [getting up from her bed she walks toward her until they are practically nose to nose] Now let's get one thing straight. I am not buying into any of your games. I am not buying any booze or protection, or any of the crap that goes with it! Now go away, Phyllis, you bug me!
- Phyllis Hunt: You'd better pay up, Jude, save us both a lot of trouble!
- Judy Bryant: Really? Like what?
- Phyllis Hunt: Anyone that doesn't pay gets a bashin'.
- Judy Bryant: [grabbing her] From you, Phyllis? Now I want to be left alone! So you get your ass out of here while you can still walk!
- [Judy shoves her. Joan enters]
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Finished your job, Hunt?
- Judy Bryant: Oh, yeah! I might have known you'd be involved in this. Well you want me bashed? You do your dirty work yourself!
- [a scared Phyllis flees]
- Judy Bryant: [to Joan] Well. c'mon, what are you waiting for? No story for the Governor when they find me black and blue in the morning?
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: [slowly taking a couple of steps toward her] You'd like that, wouldn't you, Bryant? Well you can wait. I'll pick the time... and the place.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: An eye for an eye is alright, like when Bea killed Nola for bumping off poor little Paddy, but Haze never harmed anyone. All she wanted was just to be with her mates to the end.
- Cass Parker: I don't know, Lizzie. You think about it - Jude must've known she'd wind back in here. Must've been real hard for her to do that just to stop Hazel's pain.
- Meg Morris: If only I could think of a way to get Marty out of this mess without losing him altogether.
- Colleen Powell: Well I have thought of something. I don't know whether you'll go for it, though.
- Meg Morris: Oh... I'm open to any suggestions at the moment.
- Colleen Powell: Well I think the only way Marty is going to believe the truth about her... is if he discovers it for himself.
- Meg Morris: There's no way she's going to let him do that.
- Colleen Powell: Just a minute... what we have to do is get him to visit her working flat... so that Randi the call girl opens the door.
- Meg Morris: Oh, if only we could. There are two problems there: how would we find out her address and how would I get my son to visit a place like that?
- Colleen Powell: Okay... well the vice squad should be able to help with her address. Now... the second one... I think you're gonna need some male help on that
- Meg Morris: Well, that's it. isn't it? I don't know anyone who knows her.
- Colleen Powell: Yes, you do. Scott Collins, I am sure he would help.
- Meg Morris: Colleen, it's a lot to ask someone.
- Colleen Powell: Yes but I'm sure he would understand. Besides, do you have any better ideas?
- Meg Morris: No, but I don't think...
- Colleen Powell: Well *think* about it.
- Mrs. O'Reagan: I don't know what this place is coming to! Wedding cakes, while I'm trying to organise lunch for fifty people?
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: How much of a threat is Parker?
- Sonia Stevens: No threat. C'mon, she's so thick she wouldn't even know how to break bread.
