Quotes

  • Ann Reynolds : You're certain you're well enough to work so soon?

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : I wouldn't be here otherwise.

Ann Reynolds : Your doctor knows you're at work?

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : Yes.

    [changes tone completely]

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : I've been meaning to phone and thank you for clearing things with the Department.

Ann Reynolds : You were being framed. I will not tolerate that sort of thing while I'm in charge. You'll find there've been quite a few changes since you've been away.

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : Yes. Delighted to hear you've introduced new disciplinary measures.

Ann Reynolds : They are not new but they are being followed now.

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : You think it's wise allowing Ballinger all those privileges, then?

Ann Reynolds : That's a departmental decision; it's not your place to question it. There have been too many people bending the rules to suit themselves and it is going to stop.

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : You implying that *I* bend the rules?

Ann Reynolds : [coldly]  You have on several occasions. But if you put one step out of line I will personally throw you out. Now if that's all I've got work to do.

[Joan says nothing and then leaves]

  • Andrew Fry : [encountering Joan in reception as Ann accompanies him on his way out]  Ah, Miss Ferguson. Glad to see you back on your feet.

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : I'm sure you are.

Andrew Fry : Yes. It's good to see an officer of your caliber back on the team.

Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson : Really? I was under the impression that neither you or the Governor would have cared less if I'd died on the operating table. Morning.

    [she leaves]
