Not bad but where is the accent?
planktonrules31 October 2014
This episode of "Public Defender" finds young Bertha Pulaski accused to theft and it's up to our intrepid hero (Reed Hadley) to untangle the mess and make sure that justice prevails.

The show starts with a German-accented guy contacting the police and saying that his housekeeper's daughter, Bertha, stole his dead wife's jewels. The police are a bit oblivious as WHY the man KNOWS she took the stuff is never questioned nor did they find the jewels. So, it's up to the Public Defender to determine what actually happened. Unfortunately, the police spend most of the show sulking and bitter about a speech the guy made and this makes the job just a bit tougher than usual.

Aside from my confusion because Bertha was Polish yet had no discernible accent, it's a pretty typical episode of the series. Neither great nor terrible--the show never quite lived up to Hadley's other series, "Racket Squad".
